Encaustic, a mixture of beeswax and resin, was used by the Romans to paint sculpture and murals. These works of art are still colorful today. Artist love the look of this ancient art because it has a dreamy, misty quality. It is a unique and fun mix media to try. This is an intro class, for 16+ students only. No experience needed, but any art experience is encouraged. All materials are included.
Workshop fee is $55.
Registration is required because there are a limited number of seats available.
**** Students need to wear closed toe shoes and old clothing. This is hot wax material. We want all are students to be comfortable and safe.******

Meet the Instructor: Christy Ward
Christy Alexander Ward is a southeastern fine artist currently based in Fall Branch, Tennessee. Her drawings are figurative-based with surrealistic imagery and nature elements. She is constantly experimenting with her drawings, including ink, pastels, acrylics, mixed media, and recently watercolor batiking. Christy’s artwork often appears in local shows, and competitions, as well as, private and public collections. Her work, also, is located at the Impressionist Gallery in Kingsport Tennessee.
