Meet in front of Ellarslie. In the event of rain, we can sit on the veranda to paint. Ellarslie opens at noon, but class will begin an hour before opening. Cadwalader Park (Parkside Avenue)
One of Trenton’s best-loved landmarks is Cadwalader Park, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famous for New York’s Central Park. The park offers unlimited views to inspire your creations!
Join John Gummere for plein air painting in the park. Emphasis on composition, color, and basic rendering of space.
Beginners are welcome, and more experienced participants can work independently with instruction as needed. John’s expertise is primarily oil painting, but you are welcome to paint or draw with the medium of your choice. 11×14 gessoboard panels will be supplied by Artworks; you should bring other materials of your choice. We recommend that you bring a landscape easel and camp stool.
