You must bring your own art supplies to take part in this class.
Bring your own colors and canvas to work under the instruction of award-winning artist Joseph Yakovetic.
With individualized instruction Joseph will teach you the techniques that have made him the famous "Painter of Shadows". You will learn how to take what is seen as common, and breathe into it a new life and unique fresh spirit.
Class space is limited, and every student will learn new skills based on their individual level.
Artists from beginner to master are welcome, you will work at your own pace, from a picture or photo you select. (Please do not bring an image of another painting).
Joseph provides instruction from start to finish of your project. You can join him for multiple sessions to instruct you in the complete creative process or sign up for a single session to perfect your own masterpiece.
Class Materials (Not Included):
Please bring these suggested supplies in order to take part in the class.
* Have a b/w image of your photo the same size of the canvas to transfer the image. Be sure to have a color reference of the same image to paint from. Not from tablet or device.
Canvas or wood panel (not larger than 16 x 20 inches)

JOSEPH YAKOVETIC has an extensive career as a creative director, award winning designer, art director, innovator, fine artist, instructor, illustrator, sculptor, and performer. For over twenty-five years, he has worked with the Entertainment Industry in film, theatre, theme park and television.
Both artist and performer, Yakovetic travels around the globe with Mickey and Friends doing live Sketch Artist shows. As designer for Disneyland’s “Say Hello to Honda’s ASIMO,” show, Joe created the futuristic set, as well as the exciting theatre.
Trained in painting from Bill Yelland, former restorer of the NY Metropolitan Museum of Art, Joe has taken his training and skills to create fine art and sculptures for the Disney Galleries. By using hidden images and shadows, Joe brings to life elements of favorite Disney classic films. He has been dubbed, “Painter of Shadows” by Disney fans.
“Surrender Dorothy,” Yakovetic’s first creation in The Wizard of Oz series, premiered in 2008 as part of Warner Brothers’ The Ruby Slipper Collection and The Inspirations of Oz Fine Art Exhibition. His painting toured the world and became a limited edition US Postage Stamp commemorating the film’s 70th Anniversary. The unique beauty of Yakovetic’s legacy has extended to other beloved classic films: Gone With The Wind and It’s A Wonderful Life.
