Art demonstration meets performance art meets art history education. Encaustic painter and mixed media artist Mitch Schofield will be opening up the doors to her studio as part of Birmingham Open Studios 2025. Mitch Schofield will demonstrate the 3000 year old art medium of encaustic which mixes and melts beeswax damar resin (a tree sap) and pigment together to form paint to which she adds fire to fuse (bond) the artwork together.
