Painted Bird are 4 musicians dedicated to the recreation of the music of Siouxsie and the Banshees.This gig will feature the full performance of Siouxsie and the Banshees’ iconic debut album The Scream followed by a set of many of the band’s greatest hits.
Alongside PIL’s debut, The Scream helped define the post-punk genre; pre-dating the debuts of The Cure, Joy Division and Killing Joke and hailed as a major influence to each. Recognised by its producer Steve Lillywhite as being a forerunner of ideas to several of his future roster of bands such as U2 and Simple Minds, the album was released on Nov 13 1978, receiving an excellent critical reception and reaching number 12 in the charts.
Painted Bird will be accurately reproducing the album with the energy and enthusiasm it was made with. They are the real deal!
