Welcome to the second in our ‘Bringing literature to life’ series collaborations...
It’s time to immerse yourself in the world of literature, with this creative painting event based on one of the worlds most famous stories of love, passion and tragedy…. Wuthering Heights!
The story: Wuthering Heights is a wild, passionate tale of the intense and demonic love between Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff, allegedly a Gypsy foundling adopted by Catherine's father. After Mr Earnshaw's death, Heathcliff is degraded and humiliated by Catherine's brother and wrongly believing that his love for Catherine is not reciprocated, leaves Wuthering Heights, only to return years later as a wealthy and polished man. A tale of love, hate, horror, haunting, but most of all a story about human nature. Emily Bronte wrote the greatest , most terrifying love story of all time.
The setting: The exquisite Portico library, a 210-year-old private subscription library in the heart of the city, with a unique collection of books, archives & illustrations spanning over 450 years! The most perfect setting for a night of art, music, film & costume!
The Company: The Creative Society Manchester are a local events company who host fun & creative pop-up art, craft, and themed events at fantastic venues across the city!

The Event: A creative art event where we will be painting a Wuthering heights themed image onto canvas, with acrylics. The image will be pre-sketched by our artist, taking the pressure off, but leaving lots of room to add your own creative touches!
This session is open to all levels with no prior experience necessary
