This paint out will be an experiment. Super-moon is the phenomenon where the moon appears particularly large in the sky due to its closest approach to the earth. Let’s try to paint it! It’s fullest on October 17, and will rise above the horizon at 6:29pm, looking east. We might not see it until it gets above the trees and buildings. (But I’ve read about “moon illusion,” it will appear largest here, closest to the horizon, even tho it’s size is actually the same when it rises higher.) So we’ll have to be quick….It might be that we take mostly photos, or come back the next night. I chose the harbor, hoping we could get a cool reflection on the water!We have permission to be on the large green lawn next to Deep Sea and Le Petit. The public bathrooms will be open until 10pm. It will be dark after sunset, so be sure to bring flashlights, LED headlamp and booklites to see your palette and your stuff.
