Paint & Pass: Masks of the Philippines with —A Collaborative Art Workshop
This hands-on session blends Filipino culture and art-making with improvisation.
We’ll begin with a look at the history of Filipino masks—ranging from ancestral gold burial masks to festival traditions like Moriones, MassKara, and Dinagyang. Then, participants will dive into a paint-and-pass session, where each mask gathers layers of colour, texture, and story as it moves from hand to hand.
The workshop closes with space for sharing and reflection, as masks return to their originators—revealing how collective hands can transform individual visions into something new.
