Join us at the brand new Newberry Arts Center for a fantastic art & sound event to ring in the new year!Begin the new year with a ritual of release and renewal. In this immersive workshop, you’ll explore the quiet, contemplative world of water calligraphy mats, where each brushstroke slowly disappears as the water dries. This ephemeral art form captures the essence of letting go: every mark exists only for a moment before dissolving into blankness again, inviting you to relax more fully into presence.
We’ll incorporate gentle breathwork with stress-free, intuitive painting. End the session with a guided meditation focused on release and entering the year with clarity, set to the calming tones of a sound bath with crystal singing bowls. This is a practice with no pressure, no perfection, and no wrong moves: just you and a surface that forgives everything.
Perfect for those easing into creativity for the first time or seeking a contemplative reset, this session offers a deeply restorative experience through the power of self-expression.
Yoga mats will be available if you don't have one!
