Join Kasper for a fun and creative day of painting in at the United Arts Club in Dublin. We will learn how to create a forest scene in watercolour.
The workshop will be based on a 3-part demonstration where Kasper will show his technique and after each part he will assist the students along the way.
We will start the day with a value study exercise of the chosen image and explanation will be given on how this can be used as a roadmap for a succesful painting.
The following will be covered.
• Working wet-into-wet to create a soft underpainting.
• The value of connecting shapes in the painting.
• How dry brush technique can create the illusion of detail.
• How to paint in a loose style while retaining acuracy.
• Techniques to adjusting the final painting by lifting paint in certain areas
All of this and more will be delivered through demonstrations and personalised attention.
Art materials will be provided, however students are also welcome to bring along their own if they wish.
Please note this workshop is not suited for absolute beginners.
About the teacher
Kasper Zier is an award winning watercolour artist living and working in Dublin. His watercolours are a mesmerising blend of realism and poetry, elevating the mundane into a dreamy quality. Using a masterful combination of clear colours, free expressive brushstrokes, and 'lost and found' edges, Kasper artfully captures the interplay of light on the city's buildings and streets. The end result is a unique painting full of atmosphere and character, carrying his personal touch and creating a lasting impression on the viewer. Kasper is a member of the The Water Colour Society of Ireland
