Exploring the boundaries and interplay of pain and pleasure through manual bodywork.Basic workshop 12:00-14:00
Goals
Knowledge and practice of safe manual techniques to provide pain in a controlled manner in the
(consenting) recipient.
Understanding of potential reasons for using pain and their possible desired
outcomes.
Understanding of how a session is built and with what potential goals.
A hands-on exploration of pain as a functional element in massages and other types of bodywork;
Pain as a chosen medium to bring about specific sensations or reactions leading to pleasure, deep
relaxation, or emotional release. The workshop explores several techniques, safe and vulnerable
zones, pressure points, ideation and implementation of a session including negotiation and consent.
All steps are accompanied by the possibility to practise on other workshop participants through short
exercises.
The workshop is open to differently-abled people. Nudity, screaming and open displays of sexuality
may take place. Swearing too :)
Advanced workshop 16:00-19:00
Integration of safe manual techniques (designed to stimulate pain and pleasure) into coherent,
meaningful sessions.
Understanding and practising how a session is built and with what potential
goals and outcomes.
Exploring in a guided, safer context some of the potential applications of P&P
techniques.
After having learnt the foundations of giving (consensually) powerful sensations of pain and pleasure
in humans using only your hands, join us for a second round to step up your game and learn to
integrate the techniques into flowy, meaningful and themed sessions.
An advanced exploration of embedding manual pain techniques in interaction with other humans in
bodywork or sensual play. Pain as a chosen medium to bring about specific sensations or reactions
leading to pleasure, deep relaxation, or emotional release - each of which we explore in some depth
in its own session. The workshop recaps the core safety and techniques while focusing on session
design in theory and practice. All sessions involve practice on other workshop participants - come
partnered or find one on the spot. We offer a good balance of theory, demo and practice and a
choice whether to focus more on the sensual or emotional aspects.
Meet your facilitator
Andrea
After studying physics and education, Andrea started his professional life as a research physicist, followed by work with international organisations and later as a security professional. Not being confused enough by his choices, he decided to add bodywork to the mix and studied Shiatsu and Tantric massage until progressively deciding to create his own strain of bodywork focused on consciously mixing pain and pleasure. Oh, and now he is studying psychotherapy too.
Since 2013, body- and sex-positivity have been at the core of Andrea’s activism and social engagement. He is focusing on organising low-threshold events offering safer, non-judgemental spaces and wider access to bodywork, emphasising emotional or sensual connections. A central tenet of his work is that the body is a key element in how we integrate emotions and thoughts; our own as well as our partners’.
