Pago del Vicario is situated in central Spain about 45 minutes south of Madrid near Ciudad Real. What we loved about this winery is the growth of sun a huge range of grapes. Their red wines uniquely blend many grapes which is new for us at Evuna resulting in powerful and yet fruity wines with a marked Mediterranean character, great for easy drinking. They are well known for experimenting and we also have our first Tempranillo Blanco.
Next up is Soto del Vicario - in the North of Spain in the region next to Rias Baixas called Bierzo. Here the indigenous grapes are Mencia ( producing medium-bodied wines with vibrant acidity, complex aromas of dark and red fruits) and Godello grapes (delicate and elegant character, with a balance of freshness perfect alternative to an albraino) Both Grapes bring added minerality flavours to our diverse wine list.
And Finally Pago Del Marenostromm, the highest vineyard in altitude in the whole of Europe ! Producing a wine aptly named 1500H of 2010 Vintage, we cant wait to bring Juan Francisco Requena to the UK to introduce these special wines.
