Learn the secrets behind cooking an authentic Spanish Paella and the craft of making the perfect Sangria.
A date to remember, get carried away by the Spanish atmosphere, eating, drinking, dancing (flamenco show!) and music while we show you everything you need to know about these traditional Spanish dishes.
This event is hosted by Spanish chef Itxaso Sanchez, a Michelin star-trained chef and passionate advocate for traditional cuisine with a glowing personality and an enthusiasm for showing people the real side of Spanish cooking. During the event, Itxaso will prepare the meal and guide you through all of the steps as you sit back and sip Sangria.
You will learn to make paella from the scratch, understand the steps behind the ingredients, how to recreate the broth and how to cook the rice to perfection! For the dish, we import the finest rice, all the way from Valencia, the city in Spain that first created the Paella!
We’ll also teach you to how to make our mouth-watering sangria with or without alcohol so that you can distinguish the real flavour and make your choice about where the date ends! As the days wrapping up and drinks are flowing we’ll bring out the flamenco dancers! The final Spanish flourish on your evening!
About your dishes
Paella is a famous dish originating from Valencia (region to the east of the country, next to the Mediterranean Sea), originally cooked on firewood with seasonal vegetables. Sangria is a favourite cocktail a centre pieces at social gatherings. Loved for it’s great taste and easy preparation! Something to share at your next social gathering.

You will learn to make our traditional Spanish Seafood Paella with the perfect union of vegetables and Seafood to optimize its flavour. We’ll share the breakdown of cooking times and a detailed how-to behind each of the ingredients. Showing you how to bring more intensity of flavour to rice with the greatest secret of this dish. And how to make the perfect broth to bathe the rice. Skills you can take and transfer across different dishes.

Your instructor: Itxaso Sánchez
The host will be an authentic Spanish chef, Itxaso Sánchez from Barcelona, Spain. Established in Melbourne since 2018.
Itxaso has been teaching and cooking professionally since 2011 but with a big heritage from her family, was grown at the family’s kitchen in Basque Country, were she has grown.
She learnt in one of the best culinary schools in Spain, with a Michelin star, “Hofmann Culinary School” under the eyes of the coach and mentor Lluis Rovira, with more than 40 years of experience at the best country’s kitchen as “Akelarre”, one of the best restaurants in the world with 3 Michelin star. She is the head chef of her business “Con Mucho Gusto” where gives you the opportunity to learn from the scratch in an easy way all the most Spanish famous recipes in an easy form.
