October 26-29 /2024Our course format: it would start with a online Academic learning component which is completed by you at home, at your own pace and on your own time. We can monitor your progress and are always available to chat if you run across something that you need explained in a different way. This segment usually takes approx 10-15 hours of dedicated time plus the exam.
We would then move to a confined water environment (pool) and start the practical training. We would need to meet and discuss perceived personal challenges prior so we can best prepare for equipment requirements. We usually do the swim test first followed by 5 sessions or lessons that incorporate the 24 required dive skills. We use a building block approach and ensure you are comfortable before we move on to the next skill. Once all the skills are mastered we go to the ocean where you demonstrate that you are confident and able to do the skills.
We provide a drysuit orientation, at no additional cost, because we believe you should learn to safely use proper exposure equipment for the conditions in the local environment. If you wish to pursue the dry suit diver certification while doing your open water course, just ask us how!
