*Please note this event has been rescheduled to Thursday 27 February*This session provides some input and learning about the use of Marine VHF radios - how they work, why they are so useful to carry, how we use them competently and how we build our confidence using them. We'll also look at other communications devices and provide some thoughts on what other safety kit we should consider carrying when out on a coastal journey.
This session is delivered by Russell Henderson, an enthusiastic Sea Kayak Coach and one of Paddle Scotland's latest cohort of aspirant tutors, currently developing as a provider of the Sea Kayak Leader qualification. Russell revels being on, in and sometimes under the water, as a keen surfer and freediver as well as sea kayaker. An active member of Lothian Sea Kayak Club's Coaching & Training Committee, he is passionate about supporting the development of Scotland's vibrant paddling community. He loves learning and sharing the learning experience with others. Russell will be part of the team delivering SKL training at the Club Volunteer Conference in April of this year and hopes to meet many of you there.
