🚣♂️ Ready to embark on an epic packrafting adventure? Join us for Packrafting 101, a 3-day course designed to help you master paddling skills, river safety, and boat handling in the stunning Rees Valley, just outside Queenstown.
Day 1:
We'll kick off in central Queenstown at 8am, heading towards Glenorchy and up the Northern end of Lake Whakatipu. After a quick theory session, we’ll dive into our gear and spend the day paddling on the beautiful Rees River, covering the basics of river swimming and paddling. Make sure to pack snacks and lunch for a riverside meal!
Day 2:
Day two is all about rescue skills and mini-expeditions! We’ll practice running exercises, scouting new rapids, and refining our paddling techniques as we float down the river.
Day 3:
On the final day, it’s time to fine-tune your boat-handling skills! Expect plenty of practice and progression to help you tackle new rapids and improve your paddling confidence. By 6pm, we’ll be back in Queenstown, feeling accomplished and ready to take on more!
Camping & Food:
While this is a series of day trips, we’re happy to recommend nearby DOC campsites (like 12 Mile Camp Ground) if you're traveling from out of town and want to save on accommodation.
Equipment:
Got your own gear? Bring it! If not, we’ve got you covered with gear rentals available for just $40/day. Try before you buy, and any rental fees can go toward future gear purchases!
Invite your friends, share the event, and get ready for an unforgettable weekend in the wild! 🚣♀️
