The Method of National Constellations is a participatory theatre game that invites audiences to step into a world where history intersects with personal experience. Guided by a narrator, participants become “Users of the Situation,” tasked with reconstructing authentic events rooted in the shared history of Polish and Belarusian conflicts during World War II. Through a series of embodied actions—such as aiming, begging, crying, or lifting—the performance breaks down complex historical narratives into intimate, human gestures.This project transforms historical understanding by bringing it into the realm of personal relationships, translating grand political and cultural dynamics into the micro-world of individual intentions, choices, and emotions. Imagination, intuition, and dreams become crucial tools for navigating this deeply immersive experience, where the boundaries between the self and the collective blur.
Performed both indoors and outdoors, in settings like streets, buildings, and squares, The Method of National Constellations is a versatile piece that adapts to its environment while maintaining its core mission: making history a deeply personal experience.
