Join us for a screening of PÉLAGIE X, a new short film by two-time Academy Award® winning Breakwater Studios. The film recounts the story of Pélagie Amoureux, a formerly enslaved woman who defied societal norms and stood up in legal battles. Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion with the film team, Pélagie’s descendants, and Amoureux House experts. Her 18th-century home in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, still stands as a rare architectural and historical testament to that period and to the lives of enslaved people.Free and open to all, learn more: https://rll.wustl.edu/events/pelagie-x
