Learn the art of shucking oysters, and take a deep dive into the briny world of these beloved bivalves, during this progressive set of classes taught by the experts behind The Pop-Up Oyster Bar Co. Led by founder Corey Burleigh, this company and its staff all believe that oysters and shellfish are truly gifts from the sea—and they will teach you how to shuck them with finesse, while also offering their expert advice on the culinary pairings that help make these oysters shine. This particular 101 workshop will introduce the flavor profiles and different intricacies of 12-18 Pacific oysters species, with distinct toppings and a beverage pairing. Start your journey with a boozy oyster shooter, then sample away throughout the day! After class, we will enjoy a ‘seacuterie’ board stocked with such items as: smoked oysters, seasonal smoked fish pate, and bacon-wrapped oysters, as well as other menu items and ingredients from Bella Luna Farms to make for a true farm and sea to table lunch experience.
