About this Event
Join SCDNR staff deploying a recycled oyster reef at Turn of River on Folly. Volunteers will helping staff construct an oyster reef from recycled shell. Due to the site location, volunteers must be able to lift heavy bags, withstand working outside and must be 16 years and older (high schoolers must be accompanied by an adult.)
All participants must complete the volunteer form found here. Print and bring it with you to the event. Note: participants 17 or younger must have a parent/guardian's signature.
What to wear/bring:
-Closed-toe shoes (no crocs or flip flops! Boots or old sneakers recommended)
-Clothes that can get dirty & wet
-Reusable water bottle
-Change of clothes/shoes for afterwards
-Sunscreen, bug spray, gloves, and eye protection will be provided, but feel free to bring your own!
Parking: Carpooling is recommended. Please double park in the trailer spots located in the back, right corner of the parking lot. Parking passes will be given to you upon arrival.
