🚗⚡ Oxon EVs club and our regional South East EVs Club at Go Electric – Oxford City ⚡🚙Saturday 1 November, 10am–4pm | Broad Street, Oxford | Free Entry
We’re proud to be supporting Oxford City Council’s Go Electric – Oxford City showcase in partnership with the Lets Experience Electric team — and this time the EV Groups Nexus and local clubs like Oxon EVs, and our regional South East EVs Club will be right in the heart of it.
🚙 Our role at the event 🚙
☕ We’ll be running the Nexus V2L Demo Tent & Café — showing how EVs can power real life. From boiling a kettle to running an air fryer, fridge, or blender, we’ll demonstrate Vehicle‑to‑Load in action. Visitors can sit down, enjoy a warm drink or snack, and chat with us — real EV drivers — about what ownership is like day to day.
💬 We’ll also be on hand to answer questions, share first‑hand experiences, and connect new drivers with their local EV clubs.
🔌 What we need from our EV community
⚡ V2L‑capable cars wanted! We only have 3 display spaces, and we’d love at least one of them to be a V2L‑equipped vehicle (Hyundai/Kia, MG, BYD, etc). If you can bring yours, please message our page or Rob V. directly.
🍳 Bring an appliance! To make the demo fun and relatable, we’re inviting drivers to bring along a favourite household gadget — toaster, blender, popcorn maker, even a TV for background music videos. We’ll plug them in and show the public how practical V2L really is (and keep ourselves fed in the process!). With a fridge and blender on hand, don’t be surprised if the Nexus Café ends up serving virgin daiquiris alongside teas and sausage rolls.
😁 Volunteers: We also need friendly faces of our EV Drivers to help staff the Nexus Café, welcome the public, and keep the energy high.
🎪 Exhibitors: Know a local CPO, EV business, or sustainable tech company who’d like to showcase? Put them in touch with us or the Lets Experience Electric team.
👥 Club builders: We’re rebuilding the Oxon EVs Club and looking for passionate, hands‑on people to help shape it — or to get involved with one of our other local EV clubs.

🚉 Travel sustainably
Broad Street will be closed to traffic, so please don’t bring cars into the city centre. Use Oxford’s Park & Ride services instead:
🅿️ £2.50 for up to 16 hours
🚌 Free return bus travel for up to 2 adults + 3 children
‣ Pear Tree Park & Ride (OX2 8JD) – 12 mins by bus + 5‑min walk
‣ Seacourt Park & Ride (OX2 0HP) – 10 mins by bus
Buses run every 10–15 minutes, dropping you right into the action.
👉 Driver + Volunteer perk:
If you’re offering your BEV for the V2L display or just coming along to volunteer at the Nexus V2L Demo Tent & Café and prefer not to bus in, Rob or Luke will be happy to shuttle you back and forth as you need in the e‑Berlingo support vehicle. We can also transport any gear you’d like to bring — food donations, cold drinks for the fridge, or extra kit for the demo!
🎉 Why it matters
This isn’t just another car show. It’s a chance to show the public how EVs, renewable energy, and sustainable transport all fit together — and to let them hear the truth directly from drivers who live with EVs every day.
+ Let's face it, many of the dealership staff really do try their best at these events, but they aren't long term EV drivers, early adopters, and often are just sales people out of their depth - that's where we come in, with the real world experience, information, and knowledge that only comes from having lived with an EV day to day.
📆 Date: Saturday 1 November 2025
⏰ Time: 10am–4pm
📍 Location: Broad Street, Oxford
💷 Cost to Volunteer: A few hours of your time, a splash of battery kWh, and maybe a donation of cold drinks or tasty food we can heat up in the V2L Café.
🏆 Reward for Volunteering: Our heartfelt thanks, the satisfaction of helping the public see the real side of EV life, and the knowledge you’ve made a positive difference in the community. Plus, you’ll get first dibs on the snacks, a front‑row seat to the daiquiri experiments, and if yours is one of the BEVs with V2L - bragging rights that your EV powered Oxford’s first pop‑up café.
To volunteer - please hit the Find Tickets Link, register on our site, then choose:
🎟️ a Ticket if you can provide a BEV +V2L adapter & some kWs
🎫 an RSVP for the Nexus Café - like Rob - you lack the right equipement, and can only volunteer Demo Gear + help chatting away like mad with the public, or burning, I mean heating, the food and drinks up! - Rob's pretty good with making cold, or blended drinks - just keep him away from the cooking! :-)
