Dulwich College Seoul, Elorae & Oxford Union are proud to bring you another Oxford Schools East Asia, this year offline for the first time. This is a BP Schools one-day event with four preliminary rounds, an out round with as many as four break rooms, then a Grand Final. Who? Debate teams of two must be attend the same secondary
(not ES) school. The same school does not include academies.
OSEA allows debaters as young as 12; MS debaters welcome. Only HS debaters can qualify to Oxford Schools Finals. Eligible
nations include Japan, Mongolia, South Korea & Taiwan.
EFL? EFL status for debaters applies if you...
1) Is English the main language of instruction at your school?
2) Have you attended a school like #1 more than a semester?
3) Have you lived in an English-speaking nation over 1 year?
What? Four teams of two compete in British Parliamentary Debate.
Teams have 15 minutes to prepare for impromptu debates.
This is Schools BP, which means 5-minute speeches.
When? January 9, 2025 OSEA Prep Session (online, updated date)
January 12, 2025 Oxford Schools East Asia (offline)
March 15, 2025 is Oxford Schools Finals at Oxford University
Where? Dulwich College Seoul.
Note that Dulwich College Seoul is for students age 3 to 18.
Why? There are few one-day debate events, so take advantage.
The top breaking team *qualifies to Oxford Schools Finals.
The top Elims team (not already qualified) also qualifies.
More qualifiers possible based on the number of teams.
*Oxford Schools Finals hosts over 100 teams at Oxford.

Early registration: 170,000 KRW per team until November 19.
Regular registration: 200,000 KRW/team until December 17.
Late registration: 230,000 KRW per team until December 30.
Hired Judges are 100,000 KRW per group of three teams.
Payment information is sent to teams upon registration.
Elims? Out (break) rounds are projected and numbers-dependent.
Open Semis will include top 8 teams regardless of status.
- Partial Semis (teams 3-6 debate) may replace semis.
Possible EFL Final (top 4 EFL teams who not breaking Open).
Possible U15 Final (top 4 U15 teams not breaking Open/EFL).
You may not select your break category. Open>EFL>U15.
Meals? The lunch hour is open. Bring money for local dining.
Pizza will be provided to all Semifinalists for dinner.
