About this Event

Fellow music lovers of Oxford, we're bringing something poetic to our beautiful town this autumn. A magical evening of Indian classical ragas rendition on flute at Holywell Music Room on 13th November.

Come experience Oxford Raga Unison: Duet of Winds and Drums, a transcendent evening of Hindustani classical music featuring: Pandit Ajay Prasanna, three-time Grammy nominee, an internationally celebrated bansuri virtuoso known for his innovative cross-genre Flute Symphony with Pandit Sanju Sahai, sixth-generation tabla maestro of the Benares Gharana, famed for power, finesse, and boundary-crossing collaborations with South Asian music artists across different styles. Together, they will create soundscapes for you, that are deeply restorative for various emotions, echoing the timeless belief in the power of music for mental health, mindfulness, and emotional balance.

This isn't just a concert; it's a chance for our community to experience something unique in our city as these old traditions of South Asian music come together. Research proves that such healing music can ease the mind, reduce stress, and strengthen overall well-being.

Through Ajay Prasanna's meditative breath of the flute and Sanju Sahai's rhythmic dialogue of the tabla, audiences are invited into an experience that nourishes both spirit and soul. Bring friends, make an evening of it, and add another memorable night to our rich local culture.

Doors open at 6:30 PM, and music starts at 7:00 PM. See you there, Oxford!
