We are delighted to have our great friends Geckoes for this year’s Christmas ceilidh. This longstanding Oxfordshire favourite ceilidh band formed in the 1990s, coming out of the busy session scene in Eynsham. They have a limitless supply of great tunes, and know how to phrase the music so that the dancing flows beautifully. The band is Andy Turner on anglo concertina, Caroline Butler on fiddle, Matt Quinn on melodeons, Andy Cheyne on bass guitar, acoustic guitar, fiddle and mandolin, and Heather Horsley on keyboards. Our caller this evening is the ever wonderful Sheena Masson. She chooses the best dances and has a great way of explaining them. Sheena uses non-gendered calls.
Very special guests Magpie Lane (also featuring Andy Turner) are performing in the interval. This magnificent band has been a much loved Oxford institution for decades. They are playing their annual Christmas concert earlier in the day, so why not make a day out with Magpie Lane in the afternoon and Geckoes in the evening! Further details from https://www.magpielane.co.uk/ml_news.htm
Doors 7.30pm, dancing from 8 until 11pm.
