About this Event
A Workshop for Professionals Serving Youth
This workshop provides a foundational overview of the diagnostic clinical interview process with children and adolescents, with an emphasis upon two critical components: the Mental Status Examination (MSE) and Threat Assessment. Participants will learn how to structure and conduct developmentally appropriate interviews which yield essential clinical information while building rapport with youth. The session will cover best practices for assessing and documenting mental status, identifying risk factors for harm to self or others, and integrating findings into a comprehensive clinical formulation. This training will utilize case examples, didactic instruction, and practical tools to support participants' clinical practice when conducting assessments in a variety of youth-serving settings.
