Overflow After Dark was birthed out of the vision to provide local artists and entrepreneurs with a professional platform to showcase their work. Overflow After Dark is an interactive music experience fusing the heart of blues, soul, and jazz from generations past to the present. Overflow After Dark will be hosted at Overflow Coffee—the former home of Vee-Jay Records.

Overflow’s July 9th event will feature sets performed by present-day Chicago artists and

: a songbird from Chicago, is the oldest of six in a musical family. As a trained vocalist, pianist, and songwriter, Mara draws inspiration from legends such as Tracy Chapman, Whitney Houston, Ella Fitzgerald, and Celine Dion. With the mentality of “whether it be a small few or a ton, as long as I make an impact on one, my job is done.” She was a contestant on X Factor USA and has sung backup for greats like Barbara Streisand, Heart, and more! She is also a proud member of Next Showcase USA and a frequent performer with Sofar Sounds. Mara fuses captivating storytelling and a soulful, indie sound to touch audiences with her poetry

: a native from the Westside of Chicago. Erthe's desire for music and performing began at a very young age. With influences ranging from Erykah Badu to Curtis Mayfield ... from James Taylor to Nina Simone, this 28-year-old Soul singer has obtained the ability to intertwine genres to create his own unique blend of Soul, Jazz, & Funk. Erthe attended Grambling State University, Louisiana, where he majored and fell in love with Theatre, which translates in his LIVE shows. Erthe has been featured on soultrain.com as their Artist of the Week and also on the online blog, "We Live Life Free," in their artist spotlight series. He's also been featured on R.O.E's "LIVE in Chicago" [2015], Lili K's "Ruby" [2015], The whoEVERs?'s "Marathon" [2016], Tovi Khali's, "French Quarter Style" [2017], and on the 2017 documentary, "Got The Love: A Soul Music Documentary." He can also be seen on supporting vocals as a member of Sam Thousand (formerly Sam Trump) & The Soul Vortex and also a part of Harold Green's Flowers For The Living [FFTL] Collective .

Doors open at 6pm. Seating is first-come, first-serve. Concert will start ON TIME at 7 PM. The coffee bar will be open for food and beverage orders.

PARKING: Prepaid parking available for $15 at Ivy Garden Learning Center (1455 S Michigan) next door to Overflow Coffee. See ticket add-on to purchase.
