In this digital ekphrasis workshop by Christell Victoria Roach, participants will be led on a walking tour and close reading of archival Overtown photographs. By viewing photos in the places they were taken through AR technology, and writing in place, participants will engage in a sort of call and response with history.

This workshop offers a unique opportunity to connect with the legacy of Overtown’s 9th Street, exploring place, history, lineage, and legacy through the lens of photography and poetry. Consider it a supernatural collaboration between the photographer, the subject, and the poet.

Rain or shine, with light walking required. The event is wheelchair accessible.
