The National Theatre of Scotland comes to Dunfermline for the first time in five years as part of Outwith Festival, presenting a raw, uplifting Grid Iron Theatre Company production.
This play with songs sees writer and star Charlene Boyd present June Carter's life and music while exploring her own relationship with her musical heroine and their shared experience as performers and working mothers.
The production brings together multi-award winning Director Cora Bissett, Set & Costume Designer Shona Reppe, Musical Director, Composer & Sound Designer Pippa Murphy and Lighting Designer Elle Taylor, Roseanne Reid, one of Scotland's most exciting Americana artists, as Music Consultant .
A powerful, personal journey of discovery stretching across the Atlantic from the Appalachian Mountains to the Glasgow high-rise flats, this is a tale is of empowerment, endurance and perseverance. is being performed cabaret style with some of the audience seated around tables throughout the space. The front bar of the venue will be open before the performance.
