about the workshop:
from inside to outside - physical theatre workshop
we start the class by opening our channels of consciousness, meeting everyone and everything that surrounds us, breaking the ice, and establishing an immediate group feeling. through sensing our bodies in their entirety, we give attention to the physical, instinctive, and emotional body. by awakening our voice, we establish a raised awareness of our breath. through experimenting with all these elements and playing with changes in rhythm, dynamic, intention, tension and the connection to our bodies and movement, we aim to discover something new. we constantly step out of our comfort zones and work with breaking linear situations. through playfulness we will surprise ourselves and the others, connect to the outside from the inside, and interact. we will immerse ourselves in the work of physical theater by taking on various roles, beginning to feel and move like different characters, and bringing them to life.
biography
marion sparber, originally from italy, received her education at varium and iwanson school. she likes to establish a collective mind and body inside the class to enhance the group power, giving an energetic push to the individual source of creativity. as a teacher, she has worked in schools and festivals in europe, asia, america and latin america. as a dancer, marion has collaborated with choreographers and companies such as francisco córdova/physical momentum, stella zannou, sonia rodriguez, adn-dialect, eldon pulak, and as a guest dancer of weedance company. her choreographic works are very physical and theatrical, using voice, video projection and live-music, and playing with drama and humor. she aspires to inspire and loves to add the element of surprise to her work. in the last four years marion´s work has received funding from italy and toured internationally to several festivals and venues. together with alan fuentes guerra she co-founded the platform shared levitation, which focuses on partnering work. they love to teach movers of all backgrounds and enjoy the exchange between the styles of contemporary dance, circus, martial arts, contact dance, folk dance, couple dancing, acro-yoga and acro-partnering.
