What is Outreach Skills Clinic for Assessment and Training (OSCA-T)?
- Outreach Skills Clinics for Assessment and Training (OSCA-T) provides clinics at a range of sites across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. These include both practice and university sites to offer flexibility to participants, so they can book when and where they choose to access OSCA-T.
- OSCA-T provides opportunities for participants to engage in theoretical and simulated practice learning opportunities to support learning and assessment across a range of clinical learning skills. These include: cannulation, venepuncture, nasogastric tube insertion and catheterisation.
- OSCA-T enables participants to access a range of sessions that they can attend by using the LMS system. Participants have the opportunity to book theoretical and practice learning opportunities which can fit around their university, work and life commitments.
During the sessions, learners will have the opportunity to complete an assessment (both formative and summative) regarding a specific skill. On successful completion of the assessment, participants can be signed off (where appropriate to the discipline) against the relevant proficiency/skill within their practice assessment documents (for students) or for qualified staff, receive a certificate of completion.
