About this Event
Join Outdoors Unscripted on a bus trip and guided tour of the Wakarusa River Valley Heritage Museum where we will uncover the hidden histories of the vibrant communities that were displaced by the construction of Clinton Lake. With captivating insights from the book Soil of Our Souls by Martha Parker and Betty Laird, which preserves these powerful narratives, this event will feature discussions about our shared sense of place in Douglas County. Led by poet and autoethnographer Mercedes Lucero, participants will be invited to create a poem or artwork based on the day’s reflections.
The bus will pick us up downtown at 8th and New Hampshire at 10:30am and will return by 2:30pm.
