Pinch Comedy presents:

Recent NYC transplant, comedian and director Ben Gorodetsky is offering an OUTDOOR 1 hour improv workshop. Learn the basics of the Yes And approach through spontaneous play and storytelling.

The workshop will be followed by a 1 hour improv jam facilitated by Ben, mixing short form and long form improv games for a fun and immersive approach to playful comedy.

All skill levels welcome!

7-8pm: Workshop

8-9pm: Jam

Pay what you can! ($0-$15, no one turned away)

This workshop will take place outdoors, on the deck of The Branches. Please dress for the weather!

All social distancing protocols will be observed throughout the class. Masks will be mandatory for check in and then discretionary once we're in our individual spaces. This workshop is for double vaxxed folks. If you're not vaccinated, please don't come!

About the instructor:

Ben Gorodetsky is an improviser, writer, and producer based in Waterloo, Ontario. He is co-creator of political satire comedy duo Folk Lordz (VICE) and has performed, taught, and directed improvisation at The Magnet Theatre (NYC), Out of Bounds Comedy (Austin), UCB (LA), Highwire Comedy (Atlanta), English Lovers (Vienna), IGLU (Ljubljana), FERIIR (Reunion Island), Bad Dog (Toronto), and Blind Tiger (Vancouver). His performance work has been presented by Movement Research at Judson Church, The Tank NYC, Mile Zero Dance, Brian Webb Dance Company, Expanse Festival of Movement Arts, Rubaboo Festival, Guelph Dance Festival, SpringWorks, and the Gas Station Arts Centre. He is the former Associate Artistic Director of Rapid Fire Theatre a nominee for a Canadian Comedy Award. He has taught at UBC Okanagan, and holds a BFA from the University of Alberta and an MFA from Brooklyn College-CUNY.
