Marian McLaughlin is a multi-instrumental songwriter, poet, visual artist, and educator. Guided by intuition while honoring imagination, her music embodies a peaceful atmosphere, pairing arpeggiated fingerpicking with contemplative lyrics. Starting with a stream-of-consciousness approach, her songs and poems develop body and structure while exploring aspects of wordplay, rhythm, and etymology. Her curiosity and gratitude towards nature moves her to create, with hopes that her work reminds others of nature’s abundant offerings.
Her most recent studio album Lake Accotink is a lyrical journey that observes humankind’s gradual impact on the environment, acknowledges the ebb and flow of interconnection and impermanence, and celebrates the beauty of existence. She is currently working on her fourth album, Herring Run, which is a thematic extension of Lake Accotink. Herring Run is inspired by the transcendental moments that emerged from being deeply present to the subtle yet dynamic shifts of McLaughlin's local bioregion.
Jon Camp is a guitarist and composer from the Washington, DC region. On Headwinds & Tailwinds, Jon takes a fingerstyle approach to guitar and applies it to a full band setting, encompassing psychedelia, country, drone, and more. For his set at Rhizome, Jon will perform in a solo electric guitar setting.
Pergola is the work of Baltimore-based fingerstyle guitarist Todd Shelar. His music is influenced by American Primitive Guitar players, impressionism, minimalism, Renaissance through Modern classical guitar and various folk music traditions. Pergola's most recent release, Bird Visitor, was released on Good Soil Records.
