Out-of-this-World Model Robot Making Camp9:00 a.m. - 12:00, Monday-Friday, June 3-7, 2024
Robotic explorers from Earth have visited every planet, as well as numerous moons, asteroids, and comets in our solar system. With instruction and assistance from Imperial Centre science and art ed staff, participants will design and build their own out-of-this-world robot sculpture. Participants will learn a variety of creative model building techniques, some of which are used by Hollywood special effects wizards. Techniques explored may include, wire armatures, scratch building, kit-bashing, 3D printing, and more. Before taking home their one-of-a-kind creations, participants may have their work placed on special short-term public display, in the museum’s Astronomy Gallery, alongside museum’s Robot Zoo exhibition. Drop-off and pick-up are at the Children’s Museum & Science Center Classroom.
