Out of the Box Revealed

A special Hull Music Forum "Out of the Box Revealed" event as part of Hull Jazz Festival. This Music Forum Update event aims to inform, inspire, and connect:

The Out of the Box Day at Hull Jazz Festival is geared at industry, musicians and jazz audiences. We have live improvisation composers Andy Scott & Carmel Smickersgill will be using Ableton live, plus new commission for Hull Youth Jazz Orchestra written by Dennis Rollins and live music from Pat D + Lady Paradox, Kobby Taylor. You will also be able to experience an installation by the Broken Orchestra "The Things we Leave Behind"

Details will be revealed about the future of the Jazz Festival including news of the next Out of the Box commissions and there will be short presentations by Jo McCallum on commissioning for youth jazz orchestras and Jazz North, who will be launching their Emerging Artists Live Toolkit. There will be a chance to network and you can book in for a 10 minute 1:1 funding session with representatives from Jazz North.

Whether you’re a musician, performer, educator, producer, or part of a local music organisation — this event is your backstage pass to Hull’s evolving musical landscape. We’re shaping Hull’s sonic future — together.

The afternoon is very informal and you can come and go as you wish.
