Our La Técnica evenings are about the fundamentals of bachata, and how we connect to the music, ourselves, and to one another as leaders, followers, dancers, and humans.
With over 50 years of experience between us, we’re bringing you a class to help you understand Latin dance on a felt level. We’ll return to the basics and slowly build up an understanding of how our bodies move, then connect those ideas into how we might move in concert in a partner dance. Every session will explore an essential topic in depth, with time at the end to practice what we’ve worked on.
Leaders will be encouraged to learn about the intention of moves rather than mechanics, and followers will be given space to explore where they can add their individuality to their following –and we will be challenging the notion that those roles are set and static.
These bi-weekly workshops are designed to give you the opportunity to explore spaces in your movements and comfortably lean into leading and being led, but above all they are about YOU.
