Join Master Gardener April Lynch for a vibrant and informative evening at the Laguna Environmental Center as she shares her deep love for native oaks. Through a stunning, high-definition slideshow of photographs taken over 15 years, April will take you on a virtual journey through chaparral, woodlands, and forests. Along the way, you’ll learn how to identify native oak species by their acorns, leaves, and flowers—even the tiniest ones, viewed under magnification!
Whether you're an oak enthusiast or just beginning to explore the wonders of our local flora, this colorful presentation is sure to inspire a deeper appreciation for these majestic trees and their role in our wild watershed.
About the Presenter: April Lynch, who was born and raised in California, has been a UCCE Master Gardener of Sonoma County since 2009. A lifelong hiker and naturalist, she has explored the coastlines, grasslands, hills, and mountains of Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, and Colusa counties since childhood. Deeply concerned about the degradation of Northern California’s oak woodlands, April combines her passions for photography and research to foster greater awareness and appreciation of Quercus—the oaks, a keystone species.
