About this Event
The Our Stories, Ourselves kickoff is a celebration of the arts in Vancouver's Strathcona neighbourhood. To kick things off, the hub will be hosting a community block party that will begin at 840 East Hastings (Parking Lot). Come help celebrate arts and culture in Strathcona. The kickoff event will begin at 1 pm with Judy Robertson Award presentation and continue with feature performances by Robyn Froese, a lion dance by Fluffy and Friends, ABADA Capoeira will give demonstrations, All Bodies Dance Project Performance, Poetry & Storytelling. The kickoff party will also highlight art walks through guided tour. You will be able to visit Makerlabs, and Lobe studios (open house from 1- 4 pm). There will be arts and crafts and interactive kids craft area hosted by Raycam Youth Council and Strathcona Community Police. Vancouver Coop Radio will host live DJ all ages dance event from 4 - 6 pm.
