Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Primary PINS Parent Engagement Event

This is the second Parent Carer Engagement Event taking place at Our Lady of the Assumption Primary School as part of the PINS (Partnership for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools) project.

The focus of this session is Sensory Wellbeing — creating space for parent carers to share lived experience and explore how sensory differences affect children’s wellbeing, regulation, and day-to-day life at home and in school.

These events are designed to be warm, welcoming, and low-pressure. You are very welcome to join us exactly as you are.

During this session, we’ll explore:

• Sensory differences and how they can affect wellbeing and regulation
• What sensory overwhelm can look like at home and in school
• Strategies that parent carers find helpful in everyday life
• How schools and families can better understand and support sensory needs
• Reflections and themes shared by families at Our Lady of the Assumption so far

This session builds on themes from Event 1 and helps shape future conversations and support within the school community.

• A friendly introduction from the school and the Parent Carer Forum
• A parent-only space at the start, allowing everyone to settle and speak freely
• Gentle, facilitated discussion led by lived experience
• Practical ideas and shared strategies
• Opportunities to ask questions and connect with other parent carers
• Refreshments provided

We will do everything we can to keep the space calm, private, and uninterrupted, as many parent carers have shared that this helps them feel safe enough to take part.

This event is open to all parent carers of children at Our Lady of the Assumption Primary School.
You do not need to have attended previous events — you are very welcome to join us for the first time.

PINS is a National project. In Coventry, the Parent Carer Forum is working with 13 schools to strengthen relationships between schools and neurodivergent families. Our aim is to create understanding, open conversation, and practical strategies that support inclusion for every child.
