The Justice for Jax coalition and our community partners have deep concern with the plans the Lakewood City Council has advanced for independent police oversight. These proposals undermine the trust of the community and are effectively toothless attempts at stopping protest instead of meaningfully addressing community concerns. Join us Monday January 12th at 6:00pm as we hold a rally and speak out at the next Lakewood City Council meeting. Let's show them we will not stop until the create an oversight committee that will have the power to actually make change, request information, subpoena records, and keep Lakewood's justice system accountable.
