This event entitled "Our Bodies, Our Hauntings" brings Indigenous storytelling and body horror into conversation with questions of history, identity, and the right to selfhood. In recognition of Native American Heritage Month, join Shane Hawk (Cheyenne, Arapaho) for a reading of an original Indigenous horror story that explores how the body can carry memory, resistance, and transformation. Following the reading, a casual Q&A will invite audience discussion on how horror can illuminate real struggles for sovereignty and survival. Open to all, this event blends art, storytelling, and dialogue to ask what it means to reclaim the stories and bodies that remain contested in a world still shaped by colonization.Magic City Books will also be onsite selling Shane’s bestselling Indigenous dark fiction anthology, "Never Whistle at Night."
This event is free and open to the community!
