The community is invited to Adath Jeshurun at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 16 for “Oud Therapy: Jewish Music, Representation, and Diversity Post-October 7, 2023.” Miranda Crowdus, Assistant Professor at the Department of Religions and Cultures; Director, Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies, will explore how Jewish diversity through music and discovering new instruments and musicality can be a cathartic and powerful tool for building bridges, strengthening community, and imagining a better future. This talk also moves towards mobilizing the practice of music for well-being regardless of positionality, or musical training, so that such paths can be accessible to all. The event is free, and snacks and tea will be served. Registration is requested at www.adathjeshurun.com/reservations.
This event is underwritten by the Harold and Frankye Klein Gordon Event Fund.
