Outside the Spotlight Jazz and Improvised Music Series Event #225Michael Foster's trio, The Ghost, focuses on unpacking and celebrating the free jazz tradition from a queer perspective. Utilizing a mix of original and canonized compositions with free improvisation and noise influences, the trio maintains the intensity and playfulness of free jazz with an undercurrent of queer longing. The Ghost released its latest record, Vanished Pleasures, on Relative Pitch Records earlier this year.
The Ghost is Michael Foster (saxophones, electronics, compositions), John Moran (double bass), and Joey Sullivan (drums).
