About this Event

Join us on Saturday July 24th for a showing of the powerful film Other Side of the Hill followed by a discussion.

Where can East and West, Republicans and Democrats, find the common ground needed to address climate change? How can industry and environmentalists work hand in hand? And how can local economies find opportunity in a lower emissions future?

Other Side of the Hill explores the impacts of a changing climate in rural Eastern Oregon - as seen through the eyes of local leaders on the ground. From innovative timber operations in Wallowa County to large scale solar in Lakeview, we amplify the voices of rural communities often left unheard. In a time of unprecedented cultural divide between rural and urban Oregon, we find common ground in an urgency to address a changing landscape.

Join us for a showing of the film, a conversation with the filmmakers and a live discussion outdoors at Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church in Kirkland, Washington. The film is also available for you to watch on your own from July 10-25.

Schedule of events:

  • July 10-25: Film available for viewing online (link provided after registration)
  • July 24th, 8:00 pm: Film showing outdoors at the Northlake UUC parking lot
