Read a poem - which someone else wrote - that you love, so that we can all feel better together.You are not legally required to read a poem. You can come cheer everybody on!
Sign-up begins at 6:30
Reading begins promptly at 7:00
There will be a 15 minute intermission
We are done at 9:15
Can't make this one? S'cool! Set your calendar to repeat this event every First Friday. If something comes up and we need to change the date, I'll be sure to let you know.
LOGISTICS:
-There will be 20 slots. If the slots are full by the time you get there, you can put your name on a little piece of paper, and we will pick them at random after the 20 readers have gone. We have a HARD STOP at 9:15!
-Poems may be read from a page, a screen, or from memory
-If you have your poem memorized, you win a LOOFAH!
-Please only read one poem - save the other one for next time!
-Time limit: No longer than 3 minutes at the mic. Please be concise, since we want to get to as many people as possible before we end at 9:15
Thank you so much, my friends! However you feel coming into this experience, you will feel even better as you leave it. And you'll be thinking about poetry more often, which, as we all know, is so, so good for the soul and the world.
