Seating is first-come, first-seated, the doors will close once the room is full.Paisley Ramstead will talk about why snakes are so abundant in the Southern California desert region, what their role is in local ecosystems, and some of the threats to local snakes - and why locals should be interested in protecting snakes (including venomous rattlesnakes)! The talk will cover an introduction to some of the more common snakes found throughout the Coachella Valley, how to identify venomous vs. nonvenomous species, and how to stay safe while recreating outdoors during snake season.
