Ostara : The Spring Equinox, Ritual Sound Bath & Guided Meditation
Advertisement
Ostara is a pagan holiday and one of their eight Sabbats. Ostara celebrates the spring equinox. The word Ostara comes from the Anglo-Saxon goddess name, Eostre. Eostre represented spring and new beginnings. ... Like many other spring celebrations in other cultures, Ostara symbolizes fertility, rebirth, and renewal.

Tree of Life Holistics would like to invite you to a night of celebrating the Ostara Sound and Guided Meditation at Dunchurch Village Hall. We will immerse ourselves in the special energies of this glorious Sabbat together with a journey into sound and self. I have written a special guided meditation to welcome in the powerful manifestation energies. Combining story telling, creative prose, ritual practice and healing we will create a sacred place to truly indulge your deepest soul space.
I will use gongs, Tibetan singing bowls, didgeridoos, monochords, crystal pyramid, crystal singing bowls, Koshi chimes, tingshas, shamanic drum, rainmakers and many other instruments.
Car parking available at event.
I am an established Sound Therapist, Holistic Practitioner, Meditation Teacher, Developmental coach and course facilitator at my therapy rooms , The Tree Sanctuary and Retreat. I offer meditation and sound bath sessions in small groups, private one to one sessions or personal group sessions and Sound therapy hybrid treatments ( a physical treatment combined with sound therapy).
A bit of information about sound baths:
A sound bath focusses more on enveloping you in the relaxing, meditative sound waves from singing bowls, gongs and other instruments. The concept of sound baths originated in Tibet some 2000 years ago.
Most sound baths take place in a room with other people, but some sound bath specialists offer one-on-one experiences for the ultimate in relaxation. We can offer this here at the Tree Sanctuary.
Once in the room, you’ll be asked to lie down on a yoga mat complete with a pillow. You’ll then put on an eye mask and make yourself comfortable and cosy under a blanket. I will encourage you to relax your body muscle by muscle before starting to play gongs, singing bowls or other instruments. The sounds will start off softly to ease you in, but will get progressively louder. Instead of giving you a headache, they have the clever ability to soothe your mind.
Sound bath sessions last approximately an hour or more... it’s important that you are warm and as comfortable as possible. Wearing loose clothing is advisable. Also bring lots of comfort equipment (yoga mat, cushions, bolsters, blankets etc).
I feel that my space is very special, it holds a unique energy and amazing acoustics to really feel the instruments in a deeply connective resonance.
So, what happens in your body during a sound bath?
The gong sound is changed frequently to avoid producing a fixed, monotonous rhythm. The auditory stimuli of the gong bath process leads to entrainment, a form of beneficially modified brainwave frequencies. The first brainwave state to be reached is alpha, which is defined by frequencies between 8 and 12 Hz. Alpha brainwaves are associated with creativity and feelings of relaxation. In this state, people experience daydreams, associative thinking and an animated imagination. This state is quickly followed by an influx of theta brainwaves, which fall between 4 and 7 Hz. Normally, the theta brainwave state is associated with deep meditation, hypnosis and REM sleep.
Sound therapy can help reduce stress and liberate emotional blockages. Scientific evidence suggests that certain forms of sound therapy prompt damaged human DNA strands to repair themselves. Some tones are thought to promote vitality and healing, and also to enhance happiness.
Other forms of sound therapy include tuning forks, Tibetan singing bowls, chanting and drumming therapy.
The benefits of sound healing include:
~ lowers stress.
~ decreases mood swings.
~ lowers blood pressure.
~ lowers cholesterol levels.
~ teaches pain management.
~ lowers risk for coronary artery disease and stroke.
~ improves sleep.
Cost for this event is £25 exchange. Booking is essential. This is a non refundable and non transferable event.
