Ostara is finally here and we celebrate the Wheel of the Year turning once more on this, the Spring Equinox!Ostara signals the balance of night and day with the Earth in perfect equilibrium. It is the point where the days start to grow longer and warmer as the Wheel turns towards the Light half of the year.
The celebration of spring is present in many ancient customs, across all cultures, and like many other spring celebrations in other cultures, Ostara symbolizes fertility, rebirth, and renewal. This time of year marked the beginning of the agricultural cycle, and farmers would start planting seeds--thus celebrating the fertility of the earth coming back into being.
