BIKE's trajectory has been one of long journeys, formed in 2015 by Julito Cavalcante (guitar and vocals), Diego Xavier (guitar and vocals), Daniel Fumega (drums) and João Gouvea (bass). Since the beginning, they have been highlighted by the press and the public with the release of his first album “1943” (2015), through “Em Busca da Viagem Eterna” (2017), “Their Shamanic Majesties' Third Request” (2018) and “Quarto Templo" (2019), and now their spiritual new album "Arte Bruta" (2023).
In these years of intense performances, the band played more than 400 shows in 16 Brazilian states, including underground venue stages, Brazilian festivals such as DoSol (RN), Psicodália(SC), MorroStock (RS), Picnik (DF), Virada Cultural (SP), and in reference spaces such as Circo Voador (RJ), Cine Jóia, CCSP, MIS, Sesc Pompeia, Belenzinho, Carmo, Ipiranga and Santana (SP), in addition to shared stages with names such as tropicalistas from Os Mutantes and North Americans The Black Angels and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
Outside Brazil, they made 4 tours with more than 90 performances in the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Scotland, Wales and festivals such as SXSW (Austin, TX), Treefort Music Fest (Boise, ID), Primavera Sound (Spain), Nox Orae (Switzerland), MIL Lisboa (Portugal) and The Great Escape (England), in addition to being the only Brazilian band to have a single released by the label 30th Century Records, from the celebrated North American producer Danger Mouse. Recently, BIKE recorded their first session at the cult and amazing radio KEXP, in Seattle.

"There are also gems like Filha do Vento, composition with hypnotic lyrics and guitars that seem to come out of a Sonic Youth record. This richness of detail and delirious overlapping of elements is even more evident in the second half of the album. “AUTOHAUs are a four-piece band based in Margate, on the south coast of England, influenced by the heavier end of the 1970’s German kosmische movement, and a love of neo-psychedelia, noise, and spacerock.
AUTOHAUs improvise mesmerising fractal music, layering fuzzed-out sounds and electronic drones with motorik percussion and hypnotic bass lines. Expect to lose yourself in long, improvised, instrumental songs, played loud! … a must for fans of Loop, Spacemen3, The Cosmic Dead, Ash Ra Tempel and NEU!”
HISTORY
Initially formed as a three piece (guitar, bass, analogue electronics) in Margate in 2022 the founding members of AUTOHAUs realised that their distinctly diverse musical backgrounds coalesced in a love of kosmische music. They quickly acquired a drummer to add a motorik drive and danceability to complete their sound.
Building on the guiding principles of kosmische music (hypnotic rhythms, extended improvisation, musique concrete and analogue synthesisers), and influenced by the heavier, driving, dynamics of neo-psychedelia, noise rock, drone, post-punk, and post-rock, AUTOHAUs create long, drawn out, hypnotic pieces, that ebb and flow in slow motion, before building to crescendos. Described as “prog songs with a punk attitude”.
LIVE PERFORMANCE
AUTOHAUs have shared a stage with such bands as Sneers (God Unknown); Carlton Melton (Agitated), Firestations (Lost Map Records), The Jonny Halifax Invocation (God Unknown), Girls Like Us, Portron Portron Lopez, Codex Serafini (Half Melted Brain Records/ Riot Season Records), UpCDownC (Trepanation Recordings) and Helicon (Fuzz Club).
In collaboration with Whereelse? (as The Margate Kosmische Appreciation Society) they also hosted two open, improvised, psyche/ drone/ experimental events. Named KOMMUNE 1 and KOMMUNE 2 for the short-lived, provocative 1960’s German
commune with links to Amon Düül.
The AUTOHAUs live show is an intense experience, using driving rhythms, hypnotic bass, and layer upon layer of drones and noise, all played at volume. Augmented by liberal amounts of smoke, strobe, and projections the overall aim is to envelop the audience and allow them to lose themselves in the experience.
Because they improvise AUTOHAUs sets can be anything from 30 – 60+ minutes.
