The heroes and frontrunners from the young pride-movement – illustration picture from a pride march in Oslo in the 80s – are in 2021 seniors.In this seminar, organisations from Sweden, England and Norway (RFSL, Opening Doors London, FRI Oslo Viken and Regnbuetelefonen), who all are working actively to increase well-being and building community for and to prevent social isolation amongst older lgbtiq-adults will present results from recent surveys they have each carried out in their respective countries.
Issues that will be discussed is:
- How frequent is loneliness amongst lgbtiq adults, as compared to the general population, and how is it connected to social relations and access to lgbtiq-community? Which differences exist within the group?
- How has the covid-19 pandemic influenced the lgbtiq-population?
- Does access to lgbtiq-friendly environments and community prevent experiences of loneliness?
- What are the organisations´experiences with working to increase life quality through organized social contact and community- before and during the pandemic?
